It's that time of year again when the epicormic growth at the base of the trees need removing, with the result shown above.
Damage to the big swing was reported to us by a park user and the part was subsequently removed for repair.
Volunteers new to Edgar's Field, Kelly and Jemma worked hard raking and clearing under the trees, assisted by Chairman Steve.
3 April and the first grass cut of this year. The Greenspace Operations Team worked with us to cut the areas cleared by the Friends over the winter period.
The Friends have worked hard to clear away thick undergrowth, old tree stumps and ivy from the weathervane hill in an effort to reduce the potential for antisocial behaviour. It's hoped that park users will enjoy the good view of the River Dee, the Old Dee Bridge and Grosvenor Bridge from here.
We asked Streetscene to remove the grafitti on the weathervane vent pipe.
Unfortunately someone dumped a load of Lidl supermarket leaflets in the park. We contacted Lidl who don't have a store in Chester - they have asked their distributor TNT Post to investigate as well as clear up the mess which they did.
